Because we’re still in the month of LOVE, I’ve been reading a plethora of posts about relationships and couples. I kicked off the month with the 30 Day Relationship Challenge. I thought I’d share with you some of what else I’ve been reading since then.
I am a huge advocate of premarital counseling. Whether you’ve been together for a decade or a month, I believe that a good therapist can help a couple address topics that may have gone unnoticed or unaddressed. Therapy sessions allow the opportunity to discuss topics you, as a couple, have never considered before. Couples therapy sets up your relationship for success – just like doing drills or training helps you to be more effective in anything else. Here is an infographic and article from MyDomaine.com.
MyDomaine.com has two additional articles that I found to be good reads. 9 Questions Every Lasting Couple Can Answer—Can You? provides science-backed signs to know if your relationship has the potential for greatness – or if it's heading toward disaster. The other article, 6 Ways the Relationship With Your Parents Affects Your Love Life Later On, was intriguing to me. I have always wondered what my parents may have done to mold me into the person I am today. And how can the desirable traits become instilled in children?
No couple is perfect – in spite of how we cannot get enough of Chrissy and John. This article from PureWow.com, 9 Things All Couples Should Do Once a Year, lists the 9 things you should do to get your relationship back on track and to reconnect. Although nothing is guaranteed, I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to be equipped with knowledge and tools for success.
And for all my single people looking for love, I haven’t forgotten about you! Here are two more articles from MyDomaine.com to get you on the right track; Stop Waiting—Find the Love of Your Life With This Science-Backed Tip and 5 Valuable Self-Care Habits Every Single Girl Should Do.
